Annalysing the double page spread of 'kerrang' magazine

IMAGES:
  • the images take up more of the space than the text
  • there are several smaller images with a white frame around them to make them stand out
  • the main image has a jagged cut edge around it to fit into the conventions of the music genre
  • the use of colour is white, black, grey and red, which represent masculine colours, therefore the colours represent the traget audience
  • the layout is not neat as it is quite untidy and jagged around the edges
  • the mise en scene relates to the music genre because the guitars, tatoos and messy hairstyles represents rock and the target audience

TEXT:

  • There is less text displayed on the pages than images because the younger tennagers prefer images and are less interested in reading
